Our kennel, "ALTÕN" (transcribed in Russian as "АЛТЫН"), was officially registered with the Estonian Kennel Union (EKL) in 1993, and our first litter was born in January 1995. Over the past 25 years, we have bred more than 40 litters. We can confidently say that all current owners of Central Asian Shepherd Dog kennels in Estonia began their journey in the breed with dogs from our breeding program or their descendants.

Over the years, we have produced many dogs with a wide variety of show titles. Among these, the most valuable to us is the title of Champion of the Russian National Breed Club, awarded in 2010 to a male of our breeding (E-SHAHRUKH /Turkmen-Kala Azat x Zargul/). To the best of our knowledge, no other dog from the Baltic states has achieved this distinction to date. Additionally, for the past 15 years, dogs from our kennel have consistently been among the prizewinners at specialized shows in Estonia.

Over time, our perspective on dog shows has grown increasingly skeptical. Unfortunately, events initially designed as a tool for assessing breed quality have largely turned into spectacles with no clear purpose or objectives. However, specialized shows still retain some meaningful value. While we continue to attend shows occasionally, it is primarily to obtain the necessary evaluations for breeding purposes.

In breeding, our goal is to produce dogs with a typical appearance, robust health, and endurance, raised without reliance on pharmacological aids. We strive for stable temperaments and ideally, dogs with pronounced territorial guarding instincts. At the same time, they should not require a "personal psychologist" for training but instead benefit from an owner's common sense. Size and coat color are neither our goal nor priority; what matters most is adherence to the breed standard and the health and functionality of the dog. As with a good book, the content is far more important than the appearance of the cover.

We are always happy to provide advice and support to the owners of our puppies on all aspects of care and upbringing. We welcome feedback throughout the lifetime of the dog and value the connection with our extended family of dog owners.
